Alexandre Zwicker Galimberti is a restaurant professional with over eight years experience in the industry. He
holds a Master of Liberal Arts in Gastronomy degree from Boston University, an Associate in Occupational Studies
(AOS) degree in Culinary Arts from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY, and a BA in Arts &
Humanities from the University of Texas at Dallas.
In his culinary career Alex has worked in almost every position within a restaurant, starting out as a back waiter
and moving up to management positions in front of the house and also having worked back of the house positions
ranging from prep cook to chef de partie. While a student at Boston University Alex was able to reconnect with his
activist origins. He had been involved in student movements during his youth in Brazil and also as an undergraduate
student in Texas. As a gastronomy student he became engaged in activism related to the food system. Sustainability,
food sovereignty, and labor and human rights in the food system became Alex's activist priority. He has developed
relationships and contributed to campaigns organized by The Coalition of Immokalee Workers, and many Boston
area immigrant rights groups that represent local restaurant workers. Alex served as a volunteer organizer for ROC
for 18 months before becoming Lead Organizer for ROC-Boston in 2013.
