Is There a Place for Global Corporations in a Regenerative Economy?

Saturday, June 7th, 10:15 AM to 11:30 AM
Room 444

As the Regenerative Economy continues to emerge, with small-scale enterprises and projects depending on funding from a limited pool of mission-aligned financial capital, important questions about whether and how this economy can be scaled up, and financed, are at play:

  • How might a global corporation transform itself to operate in an economy that places equal value on all forms of capital?
  • Would it even be possible to overlay Patagonia's radical business model, which so fully acknowledges the challenges of doing business in a resource-constrained economy, onto say, a Wal-Mart?
  • How can large corporations foster New Economy enterprises through their supply chain practices?
  • How can ratings drive “multiple-capitalism” into financial markets and the companies they serve?

Together with their audience, John, Allen, Hunter, and Rebecca will wrestle with these provocative questions, and how the NEC could begin engaging such corporations and CEOs.
